Orient your learners to the life cycle of the mantis as you watch anywhere from 75 to 200 nymphs hatch from a live egg case in the adorable Asian-themed habitat. Special hanging mantis-hatching platform makes care easy.
Release most or all of your mantids when they hatch to forage for garden pests on their own. You may keep one or two, but be prepared to separate them, and to find very small insects, such as aphids, to feed them.
Includes breathable and decorative Pagoda habitat, Live Praying Mantis Egg Case, and a complete mantis care and instruction guide for keeping and releasing your mantises.
Egg cases available Mid-January through April, while supplies last. This has been a banner year for praying mantis egg cases! They're available as this kit is orderable. Allow 3 to 6 weeks for your egg case to hatch.

It was amazing we had tons of baby mantises hatch and kept 2 for a long time. We let one female go at 3 months, but the other female was very tame and liked being handled so we kept her till she died at 7 months. We had to purchase crickets weekly, but it was alot of fun to watch this interesting bug. It was a great experience for my 12 year old son who took care of the praying mantis. - Kathy L.
